IN BRIEF/
< The company is expected to produce around 30,000 automotive harnesses per day when it begins operations in 2025. >

The Tunisian company Cofatech has invested 30 million pesos to establish its new industrial plant in the Centro Logístico Industrial de Durango (CLID), which is projected to create approximately 2,000 new jobs. This was announced by the state governor, Esteban Villegas Villarreal, during the laying of the foundation stone for the industrial facility, which is expected to be operational within 10 months, thereby strengthening the economic fabric of the region.

The plant is anticipated to commence operations in 2025 and produce 30,000 automotive harnesses daily, which will be exported to major brands such as Volkswagen, Chrysler, and John Deere, among others. "The CLID is expanding; more facilities are being constructed by various companies, creating better employment opportunities for Duranguenses, especially for the youth," stated the governor.

Additionally, plant manager Héctor Navarro García expressed gratitude to state and municipal authorities for their support in establishing the facility. He highlighted that by 2028 and 2029, the harnesses produced at the plant will be 100% designed by local Duranguense employees, thereby consolidating local talent in the automotive industry.

Mayor Antonio Ochoa praised Governor Villegas Villarreal’s efforts to attract investments that stimulate the region's economy and acknowledged the positive impact these initiatives have on the community.

"The governor is fulfilling his commitments; the region is becoming a development hub with more companies generating well-paying jobs for our residents," he confirmed. The event was attended by notable figures, state and municipal officials, as well as representatives from the company.
