OmniSource is looking for suppliers

OmniSource's buyer, mentioned that the recycler has the objective of being the number one in the country in terms of metal scrap collection and for this reason it will increase its number of suppliers, which is currently 400 in order to increase by 50 percent.

"We recycle it, treat it and sell it again, we are expanding, that is our main objective, to be number one in the waste and recycling business", she said.

The buyer pointed out that OmniSource is a leading company in the collection and purchase of scrap to the industry in any presentation and alloy, as well as in the sale of materials worldwide.

"Concerned about the environment, we are committed to recycling, reuse and industrial waste reduction programs that improve the planet for a better future," he explained.

Regarding domestic sourcing, he rated it a 10 in delivery time and customer service. "Yes we have come last year and we have managed to make the commercial relations, that’s what we expected, to take out the commercial relations to be able to work with them," he affirmed.

Buying scrap in Mexico

He said that OmniSource buys scrap metal in any presentation and size starting at 50 tons, as ferrous and non-ferrous material.

To be part of the recycler's supply chain is simple because the company has AEO certification, VAT certification, IMMEX program, quality policy, special handling waste transportation authorization, purchase and sale authorization and hazardous waste authorization.

"We can work with different companies that don't have it or that do have it," he said. He commented that OmniSource has 11 plants distributed in Mexico and that they currently have 400 suppliers, where they are looking for long-lasting relationships. "In the part of these 400 companies we already have several years working with them, the intention is to create these long-term relationships," he concluded.
