ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules Opens New Industrial Plant

The company will increase its chassis assembly production in Toluca

To boost its production of chassis assemblies for North America, ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules has expanded its Just in Sequence / Just in Time (JIS/JIT) plant in Toluca, State of Mexico.


The plant extension, named NOVA Plant, represents an investment of €39.6 million and has created approximately 150 new jobs.


NOVA Plant covers 8,000 square meters and features high-capacity assembly lines for the just-in-sequence manufacturing of front and rear axle suspensions, as well as corner modules for electric and hybrid passenger vehicles. The company anticipates starting serial production in July of this year.

“The company aims to be the chassis service partner for all automotive companies in North America and globally. With this new JIS/JIT assembly plant in Toluca, Mexico, we expand our regional reach and reinforce our positioning as a true Tier 0.5 for our customers and partners,” said Elena Donahue, Vice President of ZF Foxconn North America.

» With this new plant, the company now has four facilities in Mexico: two in Toluca, one in Aguascalientes, and one in San Luis Potosí.

She also noted that this plant will become the fourth facility in Mexico for Tier 1, well-positioned to support customers and add local and regional value, fostering the next-generation mobility.

Eike Dorff, Executive Director of ZF Foxconn Chassis Modules, expressed pride in the inauguration of the fourth operational plant in Mexico. “Starting this July, our high-tech production lines will set new standards for axle system assembly,” he stated.

Global Company

It is noteworthy that the company currently operates in 25 worldwide locations. In Mexico, it has four plants: two in Toluca, one in Aguascalientes, and one in San Luis Potosí, employing approximately 3,500 people.
