Executives of the Austrian automotive company GG Cables & Wires, announced that the company will expand its production line for new driving and handling modalities, at the plant located in the municipality of San Juan del Rio, with a capital injection of more than 124 million pesos.

The president of the company's Shareholders' Committee, Nikolaus Griller, pointed out that this expansion will require the creation of 300 new jobs.

"We want to establish another plant, move more machinery there and continue supplying both the automotive sector and eventually the industrial sector throughout North America (...), we will increase our workforce with approximately another 300 employees in the coming years and we are really happy to expand our presence even further in the state of Querétaro," he said.

From its plant in San Juan del Río, the company will manufacture wiring harnesses for light vehicles and high-voltage wiring harnesses for electric cars. Griller recalled that the Group has been present in Querétaro for more than 10 years, particularly in the manufacture of electrical cables and wiring systems for the automotive industry, which currently has a workforce of close to 850 employees.

The investment announcement was attended by Holger Fastabend, member of the Board of Directors of the Austrian company, the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, the mayor of Querétaro, Luis Nava, and other authorities.
