According to Aleida Cerón, Human Resources and Projects Manager at Schunk Mexico, the company is looking for employees who enjoy their work and, rather than finding excuses, find solutions. She emphasized that for Schunk, developing human talent is crucial, and with new generations seeking growth and learning, the company strives to continually reinvent itself.
“We aim to be better than our team already is; we seek colleagues who meet certain standards. Working for a German company, our mindset must be to achieve results and resolve effectively, enhancing our capabilities and skills,” she said.
Schunk, a clamping company, has approximately 3,700 employees across nine plants and 34 branches worldwide. Schunk Mexico is the 27th branch with 79 employees.
The manager highlighted that Schunk currently has openings for a CAM Programmer requiring a mechatronics engineering profile with three years of experience in three and five axes, as well as intermediate knowledge in Hypermill. Additionally, there is an opening for a CNC Operator with a mechanical engineering or related profile, responsible for machining programming according to specifications, project priorities, and machining capacity.
“We currently have openings for a CAM Programmer and CNC Operator. We are about to start our industrial plant, where we will mainly focus on the profile of a Machining Technician,” she mentioned.
Aleida Cerón added that they are looking for committed individuals, not only to the company but also to their own growth, who are unafraid to face the daily challenges in the industry.
“They should enjoy what they do and, rather than finding excuses, find solutions. And last but not least, they should be willing to join the Schunk Dream Team, a team working together towards a common goal, where the only competition is themselves,” she emphasized.
Values
The values Schunk seeks include honesty, integrity, and trust. Aleida Cerón explained that the selection process involves competency-based interviews after an initial telephone screening, which assesses the candidate's experience in problem-solving.
“If the candidate fits our profile, we schedule an in-person interview with the area manager. For very technical and specialized positions, we look for the best candidates through head-hunters,” Cerón stated.
To develop human talent, the HR leader detailed that a career development plan is in place.
“These plans start from our internship program, where we also focus on early talent, those young individuals who work with us while studying,” she explained.
