The new facility is expected to be set up this year at the FINSA Industrial Park in the southern part of the city, with operations slated to begin in 2025.
With this new operation in Aguascalientes, the Chinese company is anticipated to create over one thousand jobs in the region, encompassing not only manufacturing positions but also engineering roles.
“We welcome the Chinese company Fengmei New Energy Automotive Technology, a global leader in e-mobility, to Aguascalientes for expanding their investments. I am grateful for their trust in our state,” stated Tere Jiménez, Governor of Aguascalientes. She emphasized that the arrival of Ningbo Fengmei represents a significant step towards the growth of e-mobility.
“When the company understood what our region represents in Mexico and the world, they were certain about establishing this facility in this great city. After just over a month, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of Fengmei’s first plant in the Americas, joining their existing facilities in Romania and China,” added the state governor.
Governor Jiménez was joined by José Juan Sánchez Barba, Municipal President of Aguascalientes; Esaú Garza De Vega, Secretary of Economic Development, Science, and Technology; Martin Ma, General Director of Ningbo Fengmei New Energy Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. in Mexico; and Jaime Aranda, Operations Director at Ningbo Fengmei.
Global Operations
Ningbo Fengmei New Energy Automotive Technology operates plants in China, Romania, and Germany, with the addition of Mexico. The company serves major automotive manufacturers including Volkswagen, BMW Group, Stellantis, Volvo Group, Tesla, and Rivian.
