The French company, Veolia, has around 18 administrative and operational vacancies, focused on environmental solutions, and is looking for people with an interest in this area.

Gina Castillo, Veolia's Human Resources representative in the central and lowlands, explained that these vacancies are for different states of Mexico, for example, in Querétaro there are two jobs available to work in the capital's landfill and in the Aqueduct, located in the municipality of Cadereyta.

"We have around 18 vacancies throughout Mexico, in Querétaro we have two, we are taking care of the landfill in the city of Querétaro and we also manage and operate the Aqueduct water purification plant. In other states and Mexico City we have various projects," he said, adding that they are looking for people with commitment and passion for what they do.

"The truth is that sometimes our areas are very demanding and perhaps they are subjects that not everyone likes, for example, the management and operation of industrial waste," he said. The profiles Veolia is looking for are environmentalists, chemists and for the energy area with careers such as mechatronics engineering.

The main requirement, in addition to academic knowledge, is to be committed to the environment and to collaborate to prevent pollution, according to the human resources specialist. "We have to get married to the work that we are doing better management and that waste is not being wasted because we make solid fuel with that waste and sell it," Castillo said.

Talent development


Veolia develops its human talent through evaluations and rewards for performance and meeting environmental objectives.

"We also have a lot of integration activities, purposeful engagement, going along with what we are doing and at the same time generating wellbeing and still people developing more passion," Castillo said.
In conclusion, he mentioned that the expectation in the growth of the workforce will depend on the projects that the French company obtains, which currently corresponds to three to be developed during 2024.

"We are looking for a lot of projects and the more projects we get, the more we award projects, our workforce is increasing at the same rate. For example, we are now winning three projects to develop this year, we have some openings in Zapopan, Jalisco," he said.

Veolia was founded in 1857 and has been in Mexico for 35 years; it is a very old company but has been renewing itself to offer environmental solutions for any industry. In the Xalostoc Industrial Park, in the municipality of Ecatepec de Morelos, State of Mexico, Veolia has a plant that transforms up to 8,000 tonnes of waste from different industries per year.

In San Luis Potosí, the French firm has an Environmental Centre, a plant that converts more than 40,000 tonnes per year of waste generated by various industries located in the Bajío region into renewable energy to contribute to the reduction of GHG emissions.
